Meditation is one of the easiest techniques you can learn to refuel your body, mind and spirit. While many of us have heard of the benefits of meditation, few of us actually want to spend the time it takes to learn how to meditate. We often cling to stress, fear and anxiety because we think we need these things in order to function in this fast-paced world.

Many people who have learned how to meditate have actually achieved more than they did when they lived under constant stress and anxiety. These people have found you really don’t need anxiety to be a productive member of society. If you want to learn how to reach your potential in a healthy and peaceful manner, meditation may be just what you’re looking for.

Here are My 7 Steps to Learn How to Meditate:

1. Begin by finding a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.

2. Sit down with your back straight. It is recommended to put your body in a position were you will be able to “forget” about it for a while.

3. Close your eyes and lift your eyes to a 10-15′ angle. As if you are looking up through the bridge in your nose, between your eyebrows. It should feel comfortable. Do not strain your eyes. This is a biofeedback technique to begin to slow down your brainwave activity.

4. Breathe in deeply 3-5 times. Inhaling slowly through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. Your breath regulates your mind. As you slow down your breathing, you will also slow down your thinking. Imagine you are surrounded by a mist of colored light, your favorite color and breathe it in deep into your lungs.

5. Relax your entire body. Begin at the scalp and simply send a warm relaxing thought to each area of your body as you slowly move from head to feet. Take 5-10 minutes to thoroughly move through your body.

Pay particular attention to the following areas (these are where most people hide their tension):

6. You are now in altered state of mind. You should feel euphoric, light or very heavy (depending on your cadence). Let yourself either do one of three things.

1. Drift into silence or

2. Visualize what you want or

3. Pray: Ask for help, guidance, healing or direction from your Soul.

7. When you are ready. Take in a deep breath and as you exhale, mentally tell yourself, I am going to count from 1-5, at the count of 5 I will fully return from meditation, being relaxed, refreshed, energized and feeling great. Silently count up, open your eyes, stretch your body and give yourself a few minutes to acclimate to your surroundings.

If you want to learn how to meditate, and you don’t want to spend time in a classroom with a bunch of strangers, you can learn from the comfort of your own home with my guided meditation CDs. For beginners, I suggest “The Art of Going Within: How to Meditate or Escape from Stress.” These CDs provide you with guided instructions and tips you can incorporate into your daily routine.

You don’t have to spend hours on end learning how to meditate. In under an hour, you can learn basic skills for getting in touch with your inner self, your Soul. Meditating on your thoughts and feelings is one of the best ways to release stress and anxiety in your daily life.

Once you learn the basics of meditation by practicing with guided meditation, you can calm your mind any time of the day or anywhere you desire. This is a great tool for dealing with high-pressure jobs or situations, and making split second decisions with clarity and purpose.

Recalling Your Success Images

After nearly 30 years of being in the martial arts business I’ve come to realize that even though we teach a martial arts lifestyle, which includes focus, respect, and being the best that you can be, we must also continually seek information and knowledge for ourselves as instructors and mentors that will provide exceptional learning and growth opportunities and unusual value for all of our students and families.

So much is made of setting goals. Write your goals down and it will become your reality. I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t work. Why so?

How many times have you decided on a specific goal, even written it down, and it hasn’t become a reality? How many times do you have to fail before you give up all together? Let’s clarify.

Setting goals does work if all of the ingredients are in place. Your goals will become your reality if:

1. You go back in the theater of your mind and play back your past successes. We all have them.

2. While remembering past successes make certain that you remember the passion and feelings that went with those successful experiences

3. Be sure that what you want is backed by a burning desire. Too often we expect to achieve our goals and we lack the fuel to drive us to their completion. That fuel is an unwavering passion and excitement to complete our mission

Arm yourself with:

1. Your absolute best sales presentation and the results that you had

2. The time that you learned something so well that it gave you a new confidence

3. The feeling you had when you were at your best in athletics

4. What it felt like to hold your new born child

These exercises apply to any new venture that you will undertake in the future. Put yourself into a prime emotional and psychological state for success in the new venture. Once you’ve armed yourself with the feelings and the vision of your past success, go into your next project with a smile and an energy that will prove to make you unstoppable in the future.

It’s simple. Here’s a personal example that I use.

One of the things that I do before I begin a project is to get a picture in my mind of the thing that makes me the happiest. Often times I use a picture of my wife and kids. I go back to the fun things that we’ve done recently and over the years. Sometimes it’s as simple as looking at their pictures on my desk.

I remember my son as a three year old running in the back yard with a big spaghetti mess on his face and going into never ending belly laughs when I would grab him in my arms and raise him over my head and tickle his belly with my moustache.

I remember my daughter, one of fire and passion, who can be so mad at me one moment and so forgiving and smiling the next. She has a great spirit.

I think of my wife who smiles and puts up with my neurotic ideas and helps me get them done. Her support is invaluable to me.

I bring up those feelings and emotions and I charge into the next project with an energy and excitement that I know will help me be successful. Give it a shot!

Close your eyes and allow yourself to feel an energy and happiness when you recall past experiences in your life. Then use that emotion to do and become the person that you are capable of becoming.

What are you waiting for? Just do it!

To your best,

Make the plan, work the plan -

Ambitious People

Ambition

Ambition is one of the globally admired personality traits that someone could have. Ambitious guys are usually perceived to be more attractive by girls since they provide them with a sense of a secure future. Ambition can also bring you lots of friends and fans because of the continuous amazement people feel as they see your progress in life.
However, ambition can sometimes be rooted to self doubts and self image concerns rather than being rooted to deeper goals that are aimed in helping you to fulfill your mission in life.

When ambition goes wrong

Sometimes people become ambitious just to prove to themselves that they can achieve a certain goal. Although this is not bad at all still it reflects some of the self doubts that this person is experiencing.

Sometimes something worse happens which is when the ambition source becomes the desire to please others or to prove to others that you can do something rather than being rooted to your real goals or agenda. Again this is not bad at all but still It shows that you are obsessed by the way others perceive you.

in both cases the aim is not achieving the goal nor doing the task but its just that the person wants to prove to someone that he can do something successfully and that he is capable of doing it.

Real Ambition

The best type of ambition is when the ambition source becomes the desire to reach a big goal or to fulfill your life purpose. Aiming for something big for the sake of making a big change is the best type of ambition that you can have because its not rooted to self doubts nor its rooted to concerns about your image in front of others.

Finally, ambition is always something good even if it was sourced from one of the sources mentioned above. What’s important is understanding the real drive behind your ambition so that you know whether you are in the right direction or whether you are just trying to prove something to others.

Taking Action Gets Massive Results

In the meaning of be, do, have, there are several factors to be considered. The being part is the mental side. The journaling, visualizing. The doing part is much more important. Its the action side. That puts into motion, the being part into reality.

As you have realized there are 2 sides of the coin with Personal Development. Called personal responsibility. Personal responsibility to yourself. The word is Action!

Choosing to sit on a pillow or coach, visualizing or meditating for hours or longer will not put any bread on your table. Being very self aware and never taking action is unproductive. Your personal responsibility is to visualize the outcome and work out a game plan backwards from the end to the beginning. Then put a plan in place, with action in mind, to fulfill those goals.

If you put in all that mental work and not do something, you have wasted all that energy. Thus you are stagnant. You will achieve results when you take the steps and check them off your list.

To get the results, take forth the action steps. Its important that you understand that there are 2 sides of the coin to achieve results. That is the Being and Doing.

Goal writing, visualizing and knowing who you are. That is the Being part. Success requires the completion of the steps. Its too simple and easy to get caught up in the drama part of being. Conceiving a thought about a funnel of money flying into your bank account. More has to happen.

You must move onto the next step. That is the Doing part of the Be, Do, Have. Who are you being while you are taking action? The opposite side of taking action, is constantly being busy. Too many errands, picking up this and dropping of that, cleaning and sweeping. Other words, creating tasks that are not goal worthy is wasted energy. Some people call that busy work. Those errands are important, better for another time. That time is delegated towards your business.

It is about being, doing and taking the right action for that goal. When that is done, everything else starts materializing.

You should start with achievable and esteem able goals for your to do list . Takes action and effort. On the other hand, if you get in a rut, maybe you forgot a step on your list. Maybe you forgot to workout? What is holding you back? Not exercising, journaling, not going out to lunch with someone because you got busy? What step did you miss?

Start your day with esteem able and measurable goals. Something that you can accomplish. Put it in your win column. Feel that success. Did that feeling, feel powerful? Build on that feeling during your day. Write down and then celebrate those wins. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done. Build on the sequence of esteem able results.

It is about the expectation of leadership. Taking the action and having momentum. You are the person of leadership that others find worthy to follow. Not only do you find leadership, others find leadership in you too!

Have the expectation that the next person you talk with could be the next top earner on your marketing team. Call you leads back promptly. Be enthusiastic and focused on the moment. Recognize all your successes. Write then down hourly, daily and weekly. put them into a journal. When things start going south, open that journal and recalibrate those wins. Bring back those feelings.

Success begets more success. Declare your success. Its not bragging. Its about retraining your thinking. Think bigger, be bolder then your previous thought. Say your success statements out loud to the universe! You are successful. Be bold, “Bring it On!” You are more powerful then the circumstances of your life. You choose your direction. Take command of all your actions and decisions.

Take the position that when you do esteem able things with action. The universe will respond positively. Therefore you took the right action. Massive action!

Lets say you don’t have enough leads to talk with about your business. Take massive and positive action. don’t sit on the coach and mope. Go for a walk and use the 3 foot rule. If they are in 3 feet. Could be the next millionaire in your business. There are hundreds and thousands of people interested in hearing about your business. Making sense of that feeling while you are putting that into action will increase you feeling of abundance.

Take the right action, set the right goals. You are going to be the best come hell or high water. Nothing is going to stop you. Its that unstoppable being ness. Moving into massive doing that creates the extraordinary results for the rest of your day, week and month.

To My Friend Eric, Who Continues to Await Delivery of His Check from the Clouds

I have a friend; let’s call him Eric, who has studied The Law of Attraction for many years.

In fact, Eric has studied metaphysics of one kind or another for as long as I have known him and although neither of us can quite pinpoint when that was, it must have been sometime back in the sixties. Since then he’s embarked on several self discovery courses, attended many abundance seminars and involved himself in countless money making schemes.

Whenever I see Eric he’s always just about making ends meet, hanging out in places he’d prefer to leave and trying to figure out how to realize the latest big dream that’s on his mind. He’s a very nice guy. Everybody likes him; at least I don’t know anyone who doesn’t, except maybe Eric himself.

Often over a beer we’ll be shooting the breeze, discussing old times and maybe doing our best to put this crazy world to rights, when he’ll come out with something that has become his virtual trademark over the years.

“You know Mike,” he’ll begin “I don’t know what I’m doing here. I want to paint but nobody likes what I do so no one’s ever going to buy my stuff, which means I’m stuck with these dead end jobs that pay nothing. So I can’t ever get enough money up together to…….”

Well, I’m sure you get the idea. You’ve probably heard this kind of rhetoric from someone you know. Most of us know someone like this and we want to help them, but it’s like that old saying about leading a horse to water.

Anyway, some years ago when the New Age was young and everyone was starting to get fired up about becoming affluent and entering the millionaire mindset, I signed up for a seminar given by an excellent teacher of New Age Thought called Stuart Wilde. I think the seminar was called The Mastery of Money, or something very close to it. It was no great surprise to find Eric there too.

One of the big messages that Stuart put across that day was the fact that however much metaphysical work you put in, like getting centered, visualizing through a variety of the senses and processing out all the dross, ultimately this all had to lead to some kind of direct practical action you were going to have to carry out in the marketplace if the money you wanted to attract your way was ever going to show up.

A phrase he used that still sticks in my mind to this day was; “The God Force can’t mail you a check from the clouds.”

After the seminar finished Eric and I met up to compare notes. He said it was all fine and good, but could not agree with the idea that you had to put something as down to earth as a business plan together before the money came your way. He argued that if you had a powerful enough metaphysical technique the money would arrive anyway so why not have the God Force mail you a check from the clouds?

After all, what’s the point of using metaphysics to manifest money if you’ve still got to work for it?

What Eric had failed to grasp was that if you work at something you ‘love’ with a ‘passion’ that takes you beyond the mundane tasks you need to carry out to make it happen, you generate a huge surge of energy that affects not only you, but many of those around you.

So when you reach a point where you need money you have not yet got to take your project forward, some of the people you ask will pick up that vibe and lend or give you the money. That’s how manifestation works.

OK, you might win the lottery. You might stumble over a suitcase of used banknotes, or stub your toe on a gold nugget, but the odds aren’t that good. However, if you focus on something you can really see and feel is going to happen then that sets up a magnetic force that will ultimately pull everything you need your way if you don’t give up on it.

I see Eric a lot these days. I see him walking disillusioned through the streets, scratching around for change in supermarket queues, making do and losing day by day a little more of the sparkle I used to see in his eyes. And sometimes if I let my own energy slip, I even catch a glimpse of him in the mirror.

However dedicated we are there’s always a little bit of Eric in us somewhere. He’s not a bad guy, just a bit of a dreamer, who could use a shot of earthbound reality from time to time.
