Starting Your Day

I believe that how we start our days plays a huge role in how we feel about life, the universe, and everything. If we drag ourselves out of bed reluctantly, hitting the snooze button several times before getting up, all the while cursing the fact we cant sleep anymore…well, you’ll pretty much spend the rest of your day doing that too.

Our morning is usually the best time for most of our self improvement efforts, because what we do and learn has the most time to work. Do you want to lose weight? Excersise in the morning and you’ll feel better throughout the day. Are you trying to meditate? Again, the morning is a great time because it has the most time to good in our lives.
Also, just waking up with a feeling of grattitude can help. In “The Power of Positve Thinking”, Norman Vincent Peal recommended we start the day with gratitutde and joy, stating “this is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice in it!”. What a great attitude, one I think we could all use.
